Munsiyari - 'Mini Kashmir of Uttarakhand'

Munsiyari is a window to breathtaking view of the Himalayan peak, Panchuli and a magnet for nature lovers and adventurous souls. The region is situated in Pithoragarh, the easternmost hill district of Uttarakhand, bordering Tibet, which is known as the 'Little Kashmir'.

Glacier enthusiasts, high altitude trekkers and nature lovers commonly use it as their base camp. Munsiyari also falls on the ancient 'salt route' from Tibet and is the entrance of the Johar valley which extends along the path of the Goriganga River to its source at Milam Glacier.

The name 'Munsiyari' refers to a 'place with snow'. Munsiyari, is at the base of the great Himalayan mountain range. It is a fast-growing tourist destination and is also known as “Mini Kashmir of Uttarakhand” for its exquisite beauty.

The place is a hub for mountaineers, trekkers and nature lovers. It is the base for the trekkers to Milam and Ralam Glaciers and Nanda Devi peak and is also known as the “Gateway to the Himalayan treks” offers splendid beauty in the most attractive form.

Munsiyari offers peace and provides escape from the pain of bustling city life where one can relax in the laps of Mother Nature.
