Naukuchiatal

Naukuchiatal or “lake of nine corners” is a small hill station in Nainital. The lake is 175 feet deep and is situated at 1,220 m above sea level. It is surrounded by hills covered in trees and shrubs.

Within the valley there are opportunities for angling and bird watching. The lake is fed by an underground perennial spring. Naukuchiatal is also known for the ‘escape festival’ which happens once every year (in the month of May).

It is believed that this lake was created after hard worship(Hindi “tap”) of Brahmaji and a small temple dedicated to Brahmaji exist near the KMVN guesthouse. According to locals anyone performing a parikarma of the lake will be blessed by Brahmaji.

Lake Naukuchiatal:

One of the most sought after places in Naukuchiatal, this lake is located at an altitude of 3996 ft above the sea level. Never falling short of water, it is regularly filled by the underwater stream.
There is also a myth attached to this lake. According to legend, a single glimpse of all the nine corner of the lake with feet on the land can help one achieve nirvana.

Bhimtal Lake:

Bhimtal Lake, one of the most famous lakes in India. An island at the centre of the Lake is a famous tourist attraction and also houses an aquarium with a variety of fish species and a temple.The Bhimtal lake is the largest lake and supplies drinking water to the town and supports aquaculture in the region.

This airport is well connected to the other important cities like Delhi, Amritsar and Mumbai.
